Branchfood’s Summer Meet and Mingle Unites 150+ Food Innovators in a Successful Community Gathering
/Within the walls of the Sam Adams Downtown Boston Taproom, the excitement was undeniable at Branchfood’s esteemed Summer Meet and Mingle, hosted in collaboration with our partners at Brewing the American Dream and JPMorgan Chase. The evening unfolded filled with rich discussion, fruitful connections, and food and drinks from local restaurants.
With over 150 food innovators in attendance, we witnessed an exceptional turnout, highlighting the strong engagement within the local food industry. Amidst an assortment of beautifully set tables, guests were treated to irresistible food, provided by Better Balance, Fresh Food Generation, Villa Mexico Café, City Feed, and Spritzal. With several hours of open networking, members from all corners of the industry engaged and amplified relationships. Corporate executives, investors, and startup founders were engrossed in conversation throughout the night. There were discussions surrounding the latest innovation and the future of technology in the realm of food, beverage, and agriculture, such as new plant-based products, sustainable farming technology, and more efficient food delivery systems. Successful startup founders provided insights to those looking to make waves in the food and agriculture industry, and promising talks of collaboration between corporations and pioneering startups filled the air. The conversations highlighted the benefits that stem from partnerships across the industry and the bright future that lies in Boston, home to an abundance of food and agri-foodtech businesses.
In 1984, the beer industry was limited in variety, having only imported and domestic beer. Boston Beer founder Jim Koch was inspired to create a new category, craft beer, which has led to millions of jobs created coast to coast. Motivated to help entrepreneurs who are in the situation he was once in, he launched Brewing The American Dream (BTAD) in 2008 to provide food and beverage entrepreneurs with access to capital and business coaching, with a goal to strengthen small businesses and create local jobs. Since, BTAD has provided over $99 million in loans to food and beverage companies across the US. The organization has also supported over 14,000 entrepreneurs with coaching and advising, leading to over 9,000 jobs created in various local communities throughout the US.
Businesses thrive in a world of connectivity and collaboration. The dynamic conversations that filled the evening is a testament to Branchfood’s breadth in the industry, uniting leaders and pioneers who are innovating for the betterment of our food system, human health, and the planet.
