/2022 was a record-breaking year for Branchfood. We set big goals for our industry impact and work intending to build on our global connectivity, grow our industry collaborations and social impact, and support our scaling portfolio investments. While there were peaks, valleys, challenges, and opportunities presented along the way, we wanted to provide a year-end review.
Grew Connections Within Global Food & Agriculture Ecosystem
Built our community of food innovators to 18k+ connections across the globe
Expanded our work into two new geographies: Asia and the Middle East
Launched our community development work in Rhode Island to support scaling food businesses
Amplified Industry Engagement and Social Impact
Hosted 25 networking and educational events that welcomed over 1,600 attendees
Quadrupled the number of corporations that we provided innovation support to
Grew our Mentorship-in-Residence program to 38 experts from across the industry
Supported over 500 food startup founders through our industry-focused programming
Demonstrated Investment Success
Our portfolio company Cultured Decadence was acquired by Upside Foods, one of the largest manufacturers of cultivated protein in the world and the first to receive FDA ‘green light’ for cultivated chicken
Built a portfolio of 15 early-stage investments
Over $100MM raised by Branch Venture Group portfolio companies in 2022 alone, with 3 portfolio companies now valued at $100MM+
